In honor of National Library Week, during yesterday’s assembly students heard an engaging and inspiring talk from Alex Myers, author of Revolutionary. In his debut novel, Myers embraces historical fiction to chronicle the life of Deborah Samson, who dressed as a man to fight in America’s Revolutionary War. Myers also spoke about his transgender identity, and how this influenced him to write about Samson. Next week, look for continuing Gator coverage.
