Despite the difficult start, Nelson is eager for the season to get underway.
“I’m excited about a few things this season,” Nelson said. “I’m excited for baseball to have a practice field, to practice on a real diamond, off in Newton, so they can have the chance to hone their skills on a full diamond five days a week.”
Nelson also described his enthusiasm for the new hires, including Varsity Tennis Coach David Argasinski, who played professionally for most of his career before coming here.
“I expect that our coaches will give us more knowledge about the sport, help our athletes learn more about the sport, learn that it can be fun, but it can be challenging, and hopefully grow into a competitive situation where we continue to get better, continue to recruit from inside, from outside, and to hopefully enjoy it,” Nelsons said.
