Dick Hoyt Addresses Community

Boston’s Dick Hoyt, who has competed in over 1,000 events (including 72 marathons) with his son Rick Hoyt, addressed the Brimmer and May Community on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Rick was born with cerebral palsy, and since 1977, Dick has found a way to compete with his son in every competition. “I would you like to all think of three small three-letter words: Yes, you can,” Dick told students. Several Gator reporters sat down with Dick afterward, curious to learn more about his story with Rick.
