Earlier this month, Upper School students in each grade elected two peers to serve as senate class representatives.
Representatives voice constituent ideas and concerns during weekly upper school senate meetings, held Tuesdays at lunch. Representatives also help run homeroom morning meeting, and organize senate-sponsnored fundraisers and special events, like semi-formal.
“The class reps are working on revitalizing the peer tutoring program, which will have a major impact on students here,” says Upper School Head Joshua Neudel, who advises Upper School Senate this year. “They are also working to create new social programs for the Upper School.”
Neudel says that representatives depend on feedback from their peers. Jack Donnelly ’18, a junior representative, echoes these sentiments.
“I’ve been a part of senate for four years. I want to make sure my peers are improving,” says Donnelly, who is helping to spearhead the reboot of student-run peer tutoring. “I also think that with the new renovation, I can bring a lot to the table.”
