What are the most important things you consider when picking out your outfit for the day?

I usually pick my outfits based on what I’m doing that day. If I’m doing something with friends, I tend to dress more casually than if I’m doing something with my family. My level of physical activity also has a big impact on what I wear. I take the train a lot, so I like to be in comfortable clothes that won’t bother me if I do a lot of walking. It also depends on how my morning goes—I often dress more casually if it’s a rushed morning but dress up a bit if I have more time.

What is your favorite article of clothing?

It’s not really an article of clothing, but I love shoes. When it comes to my outfits, I tend to gravitate towards simplicity because it’s easy and reliable, but I love adding some fun to my day with colorful or patterned shoes. It’s a way I can express myself without overthinking my outward appearance.

What stores/websites do you like to shop at?

It really depends on what I’m looking for. I like American Eagle for my everyday clothes, Champion for most of my sweatpants and sweatshirts, and I love Costco leggings. They’re very affordable and hold up really well.

Are you able to dress easily every day without thinking about the dress code? How would you dress differently if the school did not have a dress code?

When I first heard that the dress code applied to me at Brimmer, it was an adjustment, but now, I rarely think about it. I feel more prepared to learn when I dress the part, and I struggle to pay attention when I’m in more relaxed clothes. At this point, I don’t think I’d dress any differently if the School didn’t have a dress code. I’ve adjusted to it so much that I usually pick out “school clothes” to wear, even if I don’t have school.

Do you prefer online shopping or street shopping? Why?

I like to online shop when I’m certain about my sizing, but I like to street shop if I’m unfamiliar with a brand or if I need an outfit for a particular occasion. It’s more time consuming to street shop, but it eliminates the risk of ordering something that doesn’t fit the way I expect it to.

How does your style reflect your personality?

It really depends on the day. I like to look put together regardless of where I’m going, but I also like to add some fun to my outfits with shoes or a colorful top or bottom. I think this reflects how organized I tend to be but also shows that I like to have fun. And any day I wear a shirt with something from The Office, it’s a pretty clear indicator of my sense of humor.
