The School’s 2024 Academy Awards premier’s today at 4:00 p.m. after a fashion show and reception in the dining commons.
The Academy includes students, faculty, and parents who have attended all four School major productions this year: Big Fish, She Kills Monsters, The Addams Family, Jr., and This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing. The event will begin with the reception in the Dining Commons, but will then transition into an awards ceremony, hosted by Maya Lownie ‘24 and Huck Jennings ‘25.
“Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in Creative Black Tie—think fancy, but funky,” Creative Arts Department Chair Bill Jacob said “You don’t want to miss this last final hurrah from the Creative Arts Department.”
Notable categories at the ceremony include “Broadway Cafe” for seniors who participated in every production from 9th grade year to graduation, and “Hall of Fame” for alumni with exceptional performances.
Gator Scales will also perform select excerpts from several of their songs in order to accompany the winner onto the stage to accept their awards. The awards are split up by three sections: middle school, upper school, and posters. The categories are as follows:
