Charles Li ’17 defeated Dr. Donald Reese in a short, intense game to claim the crown. Reese tried to employ the Morphy Gambit against an opponent he took to be less experienced, and he was instead the one who was handed a lesson by the unflappable, measured, sure play of Charles Li.
