Mark Waid, among the most popular and sought after authors in the superhero comic book industry, teleconferenced with David Cutler’s students in Popular Culture in American History.

“Simply put, he is a legendary author, having written just about every major superhero you can think of for DC and Marvel, including The Flash—in fact, he also created the speedster Impulse—Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Captain America, Doom Patrol, Legion of Superheroes, and of course, the Man of Steel,” Cutler said during his introductory remarks.

In the fall, Cutler’s student read Waid’s Kingdom Come. They are currently studying his storytelling craft in Superman: Birthright.
