Multimedia Manager Sophia Spring ’22 recently earned an editorial board promotion, joining Editor-in-Chief Karly Hamilton ’21 and Executive Editor Edan Zinn ’23 on the publication’s new leadership team.

Spring has produced Gator Nation News (GNN) for the past three semesters, taking the program to new heights, according to Adviser David Cutler.

“In addition to having a remarkable talent to produce digital content, Sophia is a dedicated journalist who, throughout her time on the paper, has shown that she is committed to excellence,” Cutler said. “Under her leadership, Gator Nation News has seen the most consistency in its existence, and she is entirely deserving on having a larger voice in the paper’s direction.”

“I can’t wait to serve on the editorial board with Sophia next year,” Incoming Editor-in-Chief Karly Hamilton ’21 said. “She is one of the most hardworking people I know, and I know GNN will continue to thrive under her leadership.”

As for herself, Spring is excited for GNN next year.

“We have lots of ideas on how to make the show even better,” Spring said. “I’m so happy to get more responsibility even though we’re all going to miss the seniors.”
