Recently, The Gator sat down with new Cross Country Coach Evan Holman to learn more about his time coaching runners at the School.

How have you enjoyed your first few weeks at the School?

My first few weeks here at Brimmer have been amazing, meeting all the students and faculty. I didn’t have many expectations when I joined the Brimmer family, but I have definitely learned that this is a tight-knit community.

What interested you in Cross Country?

When I was in high school a few years ago, I did cross country all four years and was the captain my senior year. Additionally, I was a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams as a distance runner.

What is your experience as a new coach during COVID-19?

Being a staff member has been enjoyable and interesting, as I have to meet many new people and remember faces and names. However, there is nothing I have to complain about, and I truly look forward to practice every day.

What else have you been involved in at the School?

So far, this is my first position at Brimmer, but I hope it will not be my last.

What do you enjoy doing outside of school?

Outside of school, I am a big Boston sports fan as well as an avid music fan. I do also love to cook. Usually, you can find me in the kitchen listening to some music.
