The Bruins, who held first place in the Atlantic division with 14 games left in their season, managed to miss out on the playoffs all together for a second straight year.
Tied in points with the Red Wings, the Bruins went into their final game of the season knowing it was a must-win game. The Bruins were matched up against the Senators.

Since the Red Wings lost, the B’s only needed a point from the game, however the team was soundly defeated 6-1. The Bruins came out strong and scored first, but after the first period it was the Senators game all the way.
The Bruins loss on Saturday was hard to swallow for many fans.
“As a Bruins fan, it’s disappointing,” said Dylan Rigol ’18. “Management needs to do something about this and Claude Julien needs to be fired immediately.”
“Having the Bruins out of the playoffs really puts a damper on the fun and excitement of the NHL playoffs for me,” said Jared Heller ’19.
