Tickets for the Upper School musical, Into the Woods, are now on sale. With the debut in two weeks, actors and crew are working hard to put the final touches on what promises to be a magical viewing experience.
With the bar raised by last year’s performance of In the Heights, expectations are running high.
With music and lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods is a difficult production—to say the least. The story revolves around a mix of fairytale characters, all hoping to fulfill a distinct wish.
Jack Donnelly ‘17, who plays a prince, said that “while In the Heights was dance and hip hop focused, Into the Woods is more concerned about storytelling and character development.”
“I feel more excited than ever,” said Dashuan Simon ’17, who plays a baker trying to undo a curse. “It’s my last show and my last time being on the Brimmer stage. I wanted the final time to be my best time.
“I think it’s been the most productive rehearsal time that I have ever been involved in because of the small rehearsal groups, says Alexis Ifill ‘17 who will be starring as the witch, “it’s easier to get things done faster.”
Showtimes are Thursday, March 2, Friday March 3 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Make sure to order order tickets. Don’t miss out.
