Just moments ago, the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) named Caroline Champa’s Feb. 12, 2020 news article, Coronavirus: Chinese Students Worry About Home, as one of the top-10 news articles of the year.

According to publication advisor David Cutler, this nod is akin to being nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

“This is a massive deal,” Cutler said, also noting that this is the third consecutive year that Gator staffers have received national recognition by NSPA. “I couldn’t be more proud of Caroline, who also just took home a few New England Scholastic Press Association Awards. This coveted recognition for Caroline’s contributions to The Gator is so richly deserved.”
