Temple Fair will open to students on Friday, offering a chance for students to engage in different cultures, traditions, and customs.
Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Jessica Christian emphasized the significance of Temple Fair for the community.
“It’s nice for [international students] and everyone, to get to see their own culture represented here at school,” Christian said. “It’s a good, what we call ‘windows and mirrors moment,’ so kids who don’t share that culture can learn about it as well.”
Temple Fair also provides a space where students at the School can learn about other cultures.
“It’s a fun way of having students see their own culture here and then also for our own students to learn about culture,” Christian said.
Mandarin Student Ava Bruell ‘28 explained the importance of having students participate in the event.
“I think it’s important to include people from outside the community to help within the community, so that everybody can, of course, give a helping hand and help other people, but also so everyone can be equally educated.”
