This year’s prom, held at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf, will transport students to a sunset-inspired “Golden Hour” celebration.
Students on the Prom Committee, along with Tess Cicala, the school’s student life coordinator, have focused on creating a cohesive atmosphere that reflects the theme through decorations, table settings, lighting and more.
The “Golden Hour” theme is inspired by the colors of a sunset, rather than metallic gold.
“When we were thinking golden hour, we were thinking less so actual gold, but more like golden hour sunset, when you think of going to the beach on a sunset walk and the light hits you just right,” Cicala said.
This sunset vision will also be reflected in the decor of the space through color and design choices.
Adding to the fun are the food options that will be offered to students at prom. The menu includes Caesar and Southwest salads, chicken Alfredo, penne alla vodka, steak tips, pizza and tater tots. For sweets, there will be a dessert bar.
“I would say I’m most excited for the food because we decided on some really good options,” said Mary Wang ’26, Upper School Senate president and member of the Prom Committee.
Prom promises an exciting evening where students can celebrate with friends.
“I am most looking forward to the amazing DJ and dancing with my friends,” Abigail MacLean ’27 said, another member of the Prom Committee.
The venue space also adds to the prom experience. The Boston Marriott Long Wharf is located on Boston’s waterfront and offers prom attendees a scenic balcony where they can step outside and take in the view.
This year’s Golden Hour Prom will be a “beautiful and entertaining celebration for students,” Cicala said, offering a memorable night with friends.
