The Dining Commons transformed into a Roaring 1920s hotspot on Saturday as students gathered from 6 to 9 p.m. for the Winter Semi-Formal, sponsored by Upper School Senate.
Dressed for the decade and ready to dance, the community filled the space with excitement, music, and nonstop activity.
Back for a second spin, DJ Monte Turner ’27 kept the energy high and the dance floor full.
Beyond the music, students explored a wide range of attractions, including a photo booth, a pool table, a soda bar, and multiple food stations.
One of the night’s biggest highlights came from the magician, who impressed the crowd with interactive performances and added a fresh element to the event.
Students embraced the opportunity to socialize, dance, and enjoy entertainment while fully leaning into the 1920s theme.
The lively atmosphere and variety of activities created a night that appealed to everyone, whether they preferred dancing, watching magic tricks, or spending time with friends.
Senate President Mary Wang ’26 expressed excitement about the event and its outcome.
“Senate has been planning this since December, and we really tried to make this event special, especially since we also hosted Homecoming earlier this year,” Wang said. “A big addition this year definitely included the magicians.”
