All eyes turn to Santa Clara this Sunday, as the New England Patriots play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium. The hometown Patriots, who are back in the Super Bowl after seven years, look to bring their seventh championship back to New England.
The majority of students here want the Patriots to win, but realistically, also think the Seahawks will be victorious.
In anticipation of the big game, Upper School Head Joshua Neudel runs a Super Bowl survey every year where students, faculty, and staff predict the winner, the guest artist appearance at the halftime show, and the final score.
Neudel started this tradition as a classroom teacher and later brought it to the school. He explained why he conducts the survey.
“I view the Super Bowl survey as a great community-building moment across the whole Brimmer community,” Neudel said.
The winner will ultimately receive a large bag of candy of their choice. Last year’s student winner was Maxim Audoly ’26, and the faculty winner was English teacher Bradley Starr.
Neudel discussed some of the patterns he has noticed with previous winners.
“What I’ve noticed is that there have been people who know a lot about football who have won, and there have been people who know absolutely nothing about football and just are guessing random things that have won as well,” Neudel said.
More than just predicting the scores and winners, the annual Super Bowl contest is used as a way to unify the community through the school-wide enjoyment of football, music culture, or even an opportunity to win some free candy
