After a successful senior night over the weekend, the Gators look to ride their momentum through the last two games of the regular season.
Last Saturday, the Gators put up a dominant 89-77 win against the Tilton School, holding a comfortable lead throughout the entire game. Currently 13-12 (6-7 against AA opponents), the Gators need to hold a win rate of over .500 against other AA teams to qualify for the NEPSAC AA tournament.
With two road games left, the team has all eyes on clinching a playoff spot for the first time since their 2024 NEPSAC AA Finals run.
Brady Palladino ‘26 amplified the team’s improvement this season.
“I think this year there’s been a lot of growth from all people involved,” Palladino said. “Everyone has identified something that they could have improved on earlier in the year.”
Guard John Fitzgibbon ‘27 emphasized the chemistry that the team exhibited this season.
“I think that everyone has that ‘we got us’ mentality,” Fitzgibbon said. “It’s like a brotherhood out on the court. It’s just like a family.”
Palladino also shared his thoughts on the team’s mindset heading into the final two games.
“Coach Nelson has established that win or go home mindset,” Palladino said. “We know that each game has a lot of weight to it.”
Fitzgibbon echoed Palladino’s confidence.
“I think that coming off the senior night win, we’re going to take that momentum and really put it into place.”
The Gators will travel to The Winchendon School today, February 27, for a 6:30 PM tip-off, and will play against Wilbraham & Monson Academy tomorrow, February 28, at 4:00 PM.
