The community celebrated its eighth annual temple fair in observance of the Year of the Horse, attended by students and teachers across the School.
Mandarin teacher Yuhong Jia led the set-up of this beloved event, along with Upper School Mandarin students from various grade-levels. Parents also brought homemade dumplings to the event for students to taste and enjoy.
Aside from the Temple Fair, the community have put up various decorations around the library, lunchroom, front desk, and the innovation space.
Many decor items were created by Jia’s Mandarin class students. For example, Nydia Comenzo ’27 and Elle Stangle ’27 made paper diamond-shaped Lunar New Year decorations with text. Shining in red and gold, they sit on the walls of the library.
Behind the walls of the library also sits a Lunar New Year coloring sheet, brought by seniors Max Birnbaum ’26 and Maya Thompson ’26. The goal of the coloring sheet is to bring students together while showing respect to the Lunar New Year traditions.
