Math Lab Traffic Spikes Under New Tutor

Math+Lab+Traffic+Spikes+Under+New+Tutor

The Math Lab is attracting increased student traffic under the direction of Pia Ferracin, a new part-time tutor.

Ferracin, who previously taught at Essex Agricultural and Technical High School in Hathorne, Mass., says that use has also risen steadily since January, after moving the lab from Room 145, next to the student lounge, to its current location in the Upper School library.

“I really enjoy working with students and teachers here,” says Ferracin. “I hope to return and expand the Math Lab’s hours next year.”

Rebecca Calhoun ’19, who takes Algebra II, often visits the lab to get help with homework and review before tests.

“Ms. Ferracin has really helped me, whether it’s studying for an upcoming test or explaining something that I don’t understand,” says Calhoun.

“If the hours were longer and if she was more available, I would definitely go to the Math Lab more often,” says Michael Donahue ’19, who also takes Algebra II.

“She is really helpful,” says Sadie Goodman ’17, who takes Precalculus. “I go there all of the time.”

The Math Lab is open during the following times…

Monday: 10:40-12:30
Tuesday: 9:15-11:35
Wednesday 9:15-11:35
Thursday 9:50-11:35
Friday 9:50-11:35
